DesignConstruction Timeline

 

 

This is a general list of the steps involved in building your home.  ConstructionNot all elements are in the list because this list is not an inclusive list of the building process.  The goal of this list is to give you a general concept of the building process so that you can track the progress of your home.

 

Excavation and Footer

  • Site is stripped of topsoil and rough grade is completed
  • Basement is dug
  • Footer is formed and poured
  • French Drains and/or Form-A-Drain is installed
  • Block is laid
  • Foundation is Coated
  • Steel is put in place

Framing

  • All exterior walls are framed.
  • All interior walls are framed
  • Roofing trusses are build and in place
  • Exterior Finishes (e.g. brick or siding) can be installed when framing is complete

Roofing

  • Plywood is installed
  • Roof Sheathing is installed
  • Shingles are installed

Rough Construction

  • Rough Electrical Work installed
  • Rough Plumbing installed
  • Rough HVAC installed

Drywall

  • Drywall is hung
  • Drywall is taped and textured

Interior Finish

  • Doors are installed
  • Garage Doors are installed
  • Cabinets are installed
  • Molding and finish carpentry is completed
  • Railing and Balusters are installed

Finishing Touches

  • Paint is applied
  • Mirrors are hung
  • Flooring is laid
  • Countertops are put in place
  • Appliances are installed
